We Are A Family.

"Wooo...Woooo... " wolf growling.


Well, that sounds familiar, i have heard that before from the song Thriller, by Michael Jackson.
And yes, i watched the movie, The Wolfman with my wife².

One word to describe that movie, bloody.
Blood, intestines and body parts filled the scenes in the blockbuster movie.
Actually, it was a 18-restricted movie, haha.

After entertaining ourselves, we joined my parents and my brother for dinner at Pan Mutiara Restaurant, located at Batu Maung.
Hmm, not only me but five of us were amazed by exterior look of the restaurant.


First step in, we appreciated its grand interior design and the attentive services.
It just look like and feel like that you are in a five-star hotel, i am not lying!

We ordered white rice, fish head curry (top selling dish), beef slices, Kelabu salad, vegetables, Egg Fu Yong and deep fried sotong.


No comments on the Kelabu salad and vegetable as i have never consumed a single vegetable except carrot.
The fish head curry just tasted like those of normal Mamak stalls', nothing special and yet expensive.
The beef slices were just fine.
For the deep fried squirts, lacked of crispness.
The Egg Fu Yung was a divine food.
Its brackish and dry smell made us addicted to it, forced us to order another plate of it.













Just before we left the restaurant, the Neon lights were lighted up, so beautiful, so colourful.
The meal cost us for 125 bucks.
Not really worth it, i prefer the one at Teluk Intan.



Around 9pm, my wife² and i went to Sunshine City.
And once again, the shopping spree began.
We were on our way to become shopping maniacs.




We wear new clothes.
We get Ang Paos.
And, we gain bigger tummies.
We can't deny that CNY is fattening, can us?

I Envy.

"Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to Yu Wen. Happy birthday to you!", singing from a group of people.

Did it happen, or did it not?
Aikss, we left the scene earlier, so maybe we just missed this part.

She turned adult just today.
At least she is now legal to watch those 18-restricted movies , buy tobacco products, consume alcoholic drinks, go clubbing and of course do some censored stuffs.
You know? I envy that.
Haha, just kidding.

First of all, i would like to apologize to the main character for unveiling her name in this blog post and a big happy birthday to her.
But of course, the spotlights are still on us, they are always on us, and you do know what an "us" means.

Well, today was the 18th birthday of Yu Wen, a confidant of my wife²'s and maybe an acquaintance of mine.
Just hours after fulfilling our stomach at Max Gourmet, Bayan Bay, my wife² and i celebrated the day with her, along with her sister and her fellows at TGI Friday's, Queensbay Mall.







As our digestive organs were still working hard to fulfill their duties, so we just ordered a Brownie Obsession(dessert) and a glass of Mango juice.
The moist chocolate cake with ice cream melted in our mouth, sticky with fudge frosting on our tongue.
The sweet and simultaneously bitter smell put us in a serene mind state.
Five stars for the scrumptious pud!



We wasted part of our cash in doing some shopping, especially my wife².
Just wish that she will be able to claim back the money successfully.
Before going home, we went to the seaside, being so vein.

18, you're young enough to get away with things, but you're old enough, too.

Those Days.

Phew, i am bored with my working life, but luckily i will be resigning after this Chinese New Year / Valentine's Day.

Well, few days ago, it was my pay day.
Therefore, i just went to my grandparents' house, buying supper for them as it is a tradition that a youngster like me should belanja his elders Economy Bee Hoon at least when he gets his first pay from his very first job.

I saw a picture, stuck to the fridge with magnets.
It was a photo of my old house, taken before we moved into our new apartment.
Aikss, my old house no longer exists, it was demolished for unknown purposes.



Speaking honestly, i miss my old house.

I was raised, from a toddler to a teenager there.
I played with my fellow friends and cousins there.
I even enjoyed myself in the flood when it was raining heavily as the drainage system of my old house was terrible.

There, i had two cats, named Sweetie and Tiger.
There, i shared a room with my brother.
There, i used to play football myself at the garden.

It was old, but it accommodated at least 8 of my family.
It was old, but it lasted for so long, from my great-grandfather's time until mine.
It was old, but it brought me lots of happiness.


It is a historical building, to me.

A New Me.

"Raise your upper eyelid up! Pull down your lower eyelid! Don't be afraid, put it in!"

Blah, blah, blah.

I was at the optical shop, tutored by the optometrist on how to put in contact lenses.
After trying again and again, finally i succeed in putting in the contact lenses.
It was cool that i won't be wearing my nerdy spectacles often.
Well, the lenses were cheap, you will just have to pay 130 bucks for 7 pairs of lenses.
I was still adjusting myself to my new vision, my second pair of eyes, a gift from my wife².
She insisted she will be my second pair of eyes and now she did it.
Thanks, dear, i am happy to have you all the time.

Hmm, i just got myself a new haircut, a new hair style.
That made me look better and tidier, am i vein?

Like the old days, i hang out with my wife² at Gurney Plaza.
We watched Avatar 3D, the 3D glasses made us uncomfortable, and the 3D effect was not that nice. Overrated.
We went to one of our favourite restaurant, Max Gourmet which we used to visit there once a week.
That shows how much we adore its food.





I guess you guys know about the Komtar Walk right?
We went there to try out one of restaurants there.
Finally, we decided to dine at Yaki Teppan Restaurant as it was having openning promotion.







We ordered a set of Beef Sauce Steak and a set of Salmon, each set lunch or dinner was inclusive of garlic rice, Miso soup, Japanese salad dressings, deep fried wan tans and a cup of jelly.
Out of our expectation, the Japanese food was heavenly good, ho chiak!
And we rated the food higher than Sushi King's, much cheaper too.
The meal cost us 34 bucks, inclusive of our food, beverage (cold white coffee and Ocha tea) and 5% service charge.
It was absolutely cheap!







Guys, please do not hestitate to try it out.
It is really worth it.



Live and don't stop eating, that's us!

Half Bloom Blossoms.

Well, I still remember its beauty, its exquisite flowers and the fractal petals of its flowers.
First of all, my dear wife², please don't misunderstand.
I was just complimenting a tree that blossoms annually, the tree that created one of our sweetest memories.
We used to passed through the tree frequently last year, on my bike.
Every time, we would have a look at the tree, that was how we discover that the tree blossoms once a year.
Today, once again, we admired the beauty of the tree, blossoming with pinkish flowers, although it was not in a full bloom.






Do you adore western food?
If you do, please do not hesitate to drop by Taman Kota Lama aka Esplanade to try out the tasty western food there.
I would rate the western food there as one of the most delicious and cheapest western food in Penang.

We had our lunch there, ordering a "Fish and Prawn" and a "Char Bee Hoon", priced at RM7.50 and RM4 respectively.
They do sell other food, like Hockkien Char, fried rice etc, which are also finger licking good.
Besides, I have tried their steak when i was small, and still i can't forget its tastiness.
And i will be trying their black pepper steak again.
